How far in advance should I book my custom cake?
For all custom cakes, I kindly suggest booking with me at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance. Additional custom items or ingredients will be needed to your order and I will require ample time to plan accordingly. As for custom weddings cakes, I suggest couples to book at least 3 months in advance to ensure that all final details will be perfect for your wedding day.
I would like a custom cake but I am having trouble coming up with a design. Can you help me?
Of course I can assist you! Coming up with a fresh design for my clients is always a fun process. First, I would ask you how many peoples you are hoping to serve and then you can select a cake flavor from the cake menu. Next, I will ask you to share some details about your event and inspirations that you may have and then I can help guide your design towards the right direction. I will also suggest viewing my gallery as well as my Instagram portfolio to see if you are interested in any of my previous work that I done.
WHAT KIND OF CUSTOM CAKE ORDERS DO YOU ACCEPT?
I prefer to work with projects that have a whimsical or abstract style with a modern twist, or projects that require textures and/or pleasing piping patterns.
Preferably, I do not design with fondant, create or commission sugar flowers, or create 3d sculpted characters. However, if the right project is requested, I will be more than happy to accommodate.
I am allergic to gluten, nuts, dairy, soy, and/or eggs. Can I still order something from you?
Unfortunately, I am not an gluten free or allergen free bakery. I do not recommend consumption of my cakes for anyone with severe allergens or intolerant to gluten, nuts, dairy, soy, or eggs. Everything in my small batch kitchen contains butter and eggs. Although all surfaces and equipments are cleaned in between projects to prevent cross contamination, however, the same equipment and facility are being used otherwise and can not guarantee being 100% allergen free.
Are you a retail store? Can I come in and buy something?
Unfortunately, no. I am a small batch micro bakery and all offered services are pick-up appointments and pre-orders only. If you are planning a party or event, feel free to contact me and we can begin your ordering process.
I am picking up my order. What are your transportation tips for my custom cake?
When picking up your custom cake, it is important to hold your cake box from the bottom and avoid carrying the box on its sides. I recommend placing your cake box on a smooth and flat surface on the floor, trunk, or the floor on the back of your SUV. I do not recommend placing your cake box on any car seat since the seats are at an angle and can cause damage to your cake when tilted for a long period of time. When the weather is hot out, I suggest turning up your AC as cold as possible. I use Swiss meringue buttercream for all of my cakes so it will soften and melt under very warm conditions. Drive with care - slow and steady. Avoid sudden stops to the car. Refrigerate any leftovers as soon as possible. After your custom cake has been picked up, I am not responsible for any damage to your cake that may occur during its transportation.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, delivery may be available only if your order totals up to $300+. Please provide the address of the destination + event start time. We can then check our availability and provide your with a delivery quote (based on mileage, tolls and time required). All orders under $300 will need to be picked up at the agreed date and time.
